“Who Would I Like to Talk to Soon?”

You know, if you asked me who I’d like to talk to soon, I wouldn’t have to think twice. It’s that one person—someone who once felt like home. Not a celebrity, not someone the world would know… just someone who mattered deeply, and maybe still does.

It’s strange how the heart holds on to voices we haven’t heard in years. I often stare at my phone, fingers hovering over their contact name, wondering if I should reach out. But then come the doubts—What if they’ve moved on? What if it’s too late? So I stop myself. Again.

Still, the desire doesn’t go away.

Sometimes, late at night, I imagine what that conversation would sound like. I wouldn’t need much—just a simple “How have you been?” There was a little laughter. Maybe a quiet moment or two where words aren’t needed at all.
